GALLERY 9 - Antalya Carpets
Antalya carpets are made by the semi-nomadic tribes in the mountains north of the city of Antalya,
on the southern Mediterranean coast. This area is one of the most important weaving centers in Turkey.
These nomadic people harvest wool from their own herds, spin the fibers, and use plant dyes that are
prevalent in the area. The colors most represented in these carpets are vivid, deep shades of red, blue and green.
ANTALYA carpets are woven in thick, rich wool piles in classic geometric and tribal designs. The geometric patterns can often be symbols for animals, fertility, and protection of the home.
These are representative ANTALYA carpets that may still be in stock and may be purchased (see order details), or we have similar rugs that can be pulled. This gallery helps you to identify the 'look' that you are seeking,
so tell us what you like. We have a broad selection of colors and sizes! Please contact us with your specific requirements.
